Jasper Christian Church

Jasper, Missouri

This structure built by Goodman Church Builders in 1967, has gone through very minor changes in the last four decades.  A new sound system was built in 1984 by a local radio station engineer who was a member of the congregation.  That system had served well for almost 20 years (which is very long.)

Jordan Audio Consultants designed a new audio system and a video projection system for the congregation.   You can see the new main speaker and the electric projection screen in the picture above.

The speaker is the Electro Voice  Vari-Intense model with the asymmetrical horn that is very wide at the front and narrows to properly cover the rear seating area.  Below you see the speaker in the workshop.  We covered the perforated metal grill with a decorative grill fabric.

Below you see the new 12+2 mixing console along with the recorder and playback decks.   A full control booth will be built in the near future to house the sound and video equipment and technicians.

The equipment rack sets beneath the console.  Four channels of compression are included for inserting on input channels.   The main system processing is the dbx digital driverack 260.  One for the main system.  The second is for the two monitor systems.  Power is provided by Crown Micro Tech amplifiers.

The 4100 lumin data projector is mounted on the rear wall of the auditorium with a long throw lens.   The cabling routes across the attic,  through the cove lighting and down to the control area.   A VHS/DVD player along with the churches computer feed to the projector.   Switching on the projector is handled in the control area with an infrared remote extension system.
